FALSE MESSIAHS

Throughout the ages there have been many pretenders to the role of Messiah. In Judaism, the Messiah is the awaited king and deliverer of the Jewish people. In Christianity, he was Jesus, who is to appear again in a second coming at the end of the world. Those who have claimed to be this redeemer have been labeled heretics or lunatics, but to the believers who pin their faith on them, they give, if just for a short time, hope and inspiration.
