Pulitzer Capsule

In 1956 a sealed copper box was recovered during the demolition of the old Pulitzer Building in New York City. The box had been buried in October, 1889. Inside: plans for the building; copies of New York's newspapers; a photograph of Pulitzer; some gold and silver coins; photographs of the Pulitzer family; a commemorative medallion celebrating the New York World's attainment of a 250,000 circulation.
