TIME CAPSULES IN AMERICA

Nebraska Capsule

On July 4, 1975, hardware store owner Harold Keith Davisson interred a 1975 Chevrolet Vega in what he calls "the world's largest time capsule." To be opened in 2025, so that "children and students, at least, who put things in now will still be around in 2025 to see them taken out," the capsule also contains a blue Kawasaki motorcycle, a bolt of polyester fabric and a pattern, a Teflon frying pan, soda pop, a pair of bikini panties, and a blue leisure suit with stitched yellow flowers. Davisson hopes that whoever opens the capsule will feel free to wear the suit while riding the Kawasaki.
