VASSILIJ TARAKIN (?--1919)
His Person: Russian citizen. Refused to join the army and go to the front during W.W. I because of his religious convictions against war. Sentenced to be shot as a deserter by the Vladimir County Revolutionary Tribunal. Would not change his mind and was executed personally by the commander of the County Extraordinary Commission when the soldiers of the commission refused.
His Belief: "Know it, brethren, and always remember that by shooting my body you are killing your own soul. My body shall perish but my spirit will live, because I die for love and brotherhood." | ||
