I am very concerned about the problem of rape. Rape centers helps only after the fact, and the police--at least where I live--seem to believe that any woman who is raped did something to deserve it. It is up to women to band together to prevent rape. Here's my plan. First, it is necessary to find out which streets or parks have been the sites of the most rapes. Then organize women's self-defense classes to meet after dark in the very spots where rapes are most likely to occur. Imagine the reaction of a rapist as he arrives one night at his favorite hunting spot only to discover, not a lone woman hurrying terrified down the sidewalk, but a large group of women proudly practicing karate and kung fu!
