Identified as an element by Karl Scheele of Sweden in 1778. Isolated by Peter Hjelm of Sweden in 1782. Molybdenum has a very high melting point and is used for rocket parts, jet engines, and steel for cars. A trace element of the human body, it keeps tooth enamel healthy.
