JAMES CRICHTON (1560?-1582)

A Scottish prodigy in all fields of human endeavor, he was called "the admirable Crichton." By the time he was 15, he had mastered 10 foreign languages, including Hebrew, Chaldaic, Flemish, Greek, Latin, and German. Crichton could repeat verbatim everything that he had ever read. He often gave exhibitions of his linguistic prowess.
