ODDITIES

Cattle and other ruminants have unique stomachs with four sections. They swallow their food, regurgitate it in cud form, and then chew it thoroughly. Then they swallow again, and the cud moves into their "true" stomach section and is finally digested.

Although cows aren't supposed to be very intelligent, the 1978 edition of Ringling Brothers-Barnum and Bailey Circus featured a remarkable troupe of trained dancing cows.
