About Jules Verne who in 1877 published the sci-fi novel Hector Servadac.

--1877. In Hector Servadac (named after the book's protagonist), Verne went farther than the moon, on a voyage better described by the title of one of the book's 20th-century translations, Off on a Comet. The comet scooped up various earthfolk and obligingly gave them a tour of the solar system before returning them all safe and sound.
