Lima Bean

Remains of lima beans were found in Peru, dating from about 7000 B.C. They are grown only for their seeds, although a type called baby lima beans are also grown for their pods. They are now the main pulse crop in many areas of tropical Africa, and are grown in Burma as well. Lima beans were only one variety out of hundreds which explorers found the Indians using when they 1st came to America.
