Pomegranate

The plant grows wild in western Asia and northwestern India. It is cultivated in gardens from the warmer parts of the U.S. south to Chile. In Iran the pulp is made into wine. Mohammed counseled: "Eat the pomegranate for it purges the system of hatred and envy."
