About 90% of the world's production is in the U.S.; Florida, California, Texas, and Arizona are the largest growers. Israel, Jordan, and Brazil are also large producers. Grapefruit contains vitamin C and the pink varieties also have vitamin A. The fruit is used as an appetizer, in fruit salads, desserts, and in reducing diets. The skin and seeds are used for medicinal purposes. Buy them thickskinned and heavy.
