Cactus
The tuna or prickly cactus is grown throughout Mexico, Central America, South America, and in the southwestern States of the U.S. It is a fair source of vitamin C, phosphorus, and magnesium and is said to be a good source of organic insulin. Planting is done by breaking off a joint, letting it dry for a week, then planting it. The spines are removed by burning or agile peeling. Chilling before eating is said to enhance its flavor. | ||
