Fallopian Tubes--2 tubes which carry eggs from the ovaries to the uterus. This journey takes an average of 6 1/2 days.

Fellatio--oral contact with the penis, which sometimes leads to orgasm for the male.

Fertility--the ability to reproduce.

Fetishist--a person who is more sexually aroused by an object or a part of a person's body than by the whole person.

Fetus--medical term for an unborn baby after its 1st 3 months in the mother's womb.

Fidelity-being faithful to one's mate. Usually understood to mean abstention from extramarital intercourse.

Foam-a white, aerated material containing a spermicide. It is inserted in the vulva in front of the entrance to the cervix. Foam is best used as a supplement to other forms of birth control.

Foreplay-caresses that lead to sexual intercourse. An unfortunate term in that it implies that the caresses cannot be enjoyed for themselves, because they are merely an introduction to something bigger and better.

Foreskin-an expandable fold of skin that covers the glans of the penis. It is often removed soon after birth in a simple surgical operation called circumcision. Men with uncircumcized penises have to pay more attention to cleanliness because urine, sweat, and other secretions can get trapped under the skin.

Fornication-all sexual intercourse except that between husband and wife.

Free Love-a moral code that says it is acceptable to have sexual relationships other than those between a husband and wife, such as premarital or extramarital sex. Free love implies that it is morally proper for a couple to live together without being legally married.

French Kiss-an open-mouthed kiss which emphasizes contact between the tongues.

Frigidity-inability of a woman to enjoy lovemaking or to have an orgasm. Some women are accused of being frigid by insensitive men who use sex for their own satisfaction and do not devote any time or energy to satisfying their female partners. There are so many other reasons why a woman might not become stimulated-worry, fatigue, a clumsy partner, or just not being in the mood--that it is unwise to lump them all under the heading of frigidity. If a woman never enjoys sex, even with a partner she deeply loves, then a problem exists.

Frottage--the practice of rubbing one's genitals against another person, usually in a crowd.

Gay--See: Homosexual.

Genitals (Genitalia)--the sex organs. In a man these include the penis, scrotum, testicles, spermatic ducts, and the prostate gland. In the woman these include the vulva, consisting of the labia majora, labia minora, and clitoris; the vagina; uterus; fallopian tubes; and ovaries.

Glans--the tip or head of the penis.

Gonads--ovaries and testicles.

Gonorrhea--the most common venereal disease. In men, a severe burning while urinating develops 3 to 9 days after infection. Women may have no noticeable symptoms. The harmful microorganism Neisseria gonorrhoeae can enter the body during oral, anal, or genital contact. A fetus can acquire gonorrhea through the placenta.

Group Sex--sexual intercourse involving more than 2 people.
