In keeping with VW's image, advertising is geared toward the youth market, and prospective beetleboarders are interviewed to match the driver to the product. A blue-jean advertiser prefers long-haired drivers, while a beer company prefers athletic, clean-cut young men. College students, especially favored as beetleboarders, can save toward tuition just by driving to campus.
