1792 THE BATTLE FOR WOMEN'S RIGHTS BEGINS

Mary Wollstonecraft, an English governess, published her book, A Vindication of the Rights of Women, demanding that women receive an education and have a voice in government. It was the 1st feminist manifesto. She was also the mother of Mary Shelley.
